This is the first in a series of blog posts on good places to walk your cat. Since I live in the East Bay, most of them will be here. That said, if you have a favorite place to walk your cat in your town, please let me know so that I can share it with our readers. Even if you live nowhere near the area covered, it may give you ideas of places to seek out in your town.
Cat Walking Location Hayward Japanese Gardens 22373 N 3rd St, Hayward, CA 94546
Hours: M-F, 8:30 am - 4:00 pm
This place is beautiful and peaceful. Upon entrance, there are a couple of prominent NO DOGS ALLOWED signs, so you're not likely to run into any. Oh, a ranger guy walked up behind me while I was carrying Gloria...I'm pretty sure he was about to say THERE ARE NO DOGS ALLOWED, but as I turned he said instead HELLO KITTY and continued on. So cats are safe here! Oh, and there's a good-sized koi pond with good-sized koi. Gloria didn't quite know what to think of them and wasn't interested in a closer look. Well-manicured, but there are little cubbies with boulders that can be explored by a curious cat. As a cat-walking locations go, I give this one an 8 out of 10.
